Balthus Films is a Mexican film production company, focused on creating bold and layered content for an international audience.
Mauricio Chernovetzky has worked with internationally recognized talent, such as Academy Award Nominated Stephen Rea and Eleanor Tomlinson. His supernatural feature, Styria received the Industry Choice Award at the Dances With Films Festival in Hollywood and was picked up by Showtime. His thesis film, Cassandra was nominated for a National Student Academy Award. He recently directed Patitos Feos, an absurdist comedy set in Chihuahua. He obtained a degree in Literature and Religion from Reed College, a Masters degree in Film, Television and New Media from San Diego State University, and studied directing at the National Polish Film School in Lodz.

Martínez Arévalo has produced over ten feature films, including Disrupted, by filmmaker Roberto Fiesco, which won the Ariel for best documentary, as well as countless awards all over the world and The Cinema Hold Up by Iria Gómez, which premiered at Sundance Film Festival and won Best First Feature at the Guadalajara International Film Festival. His short films, Trémulo directed by Roberto Fiesco, Ramona by Giovanna Zacarías, and Oasis by Alex Zuno, all won an Ariel for best short. His most recent features include Malibú, Nadie sabrá nunca, and Rencor Tatuado. He is currently working with Canadian producer, Rosalie Chilelli, (Remember and The Witch) on a Mexico-Canada co-production entitled Sacrificios
